FIREWORK SEASON IS UPON US:
We would like to inform you of a new product that we got in. This is a product for noise aversion dogs that has shown some great results in studies. So, if you have a dog that is scared of fireworks, storms, or any other loud noises it may be worth a try. The product is called Sileo and is the first and only FDA-approved treatment for noise aversion dogs. It's specifically made to calm dogs during noise events without sedating them. If you see any signs of noise aversion in your dog during noisy events (pacing, trembling/shaking, hiding, cowering, lip licking, owner seeking/clinginess) or already know that your dog is one of the 1 in 3 that suffers from noise aversion, please let us know and we can set up a time to discuss this product. We also have a few natural products that we could discuss as well.
(As with all drugs there is some safety information as well. Sileo should not be used in dogs with severe cardiovascular disease, respiratory, liver or kidney diseases, or in conditions of shock, severe debilitation, or stress due to extreme heat, cold or fatigue or in dogs hypersensitive to dexmedetomidine or to any of the excipients. Sileo should not be administered in the presence of preexisting hypotension, hypoxia, or bradycardia. Do not use in dogs sedated from previous dosing. Sileo has not been evaluated in dogs younger than 16 weeks of age or in dogs with dental or gingival disease that could have an effect on the absorption of Sileo. Sileo has not been evaluated for use in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs. Transient pale mucous membranes at the site of application may occur with Sileo use. Other uncommon adverse reactions included, vomiting, drowsiness or sedation. Handle gel-dosing syringes with caution to avoid direct exposure to skin, eyes or mouth.)
We also now have the newest K9 Influenza vaccine (CIV H3N2) available. This strain of flu has been spreading across the country. If you board your dog, go to dog parks, or travel with your dog, it would be recommended to get this vaccine. Please call us if you would like to set up an appointment.
